Steel Decks & Docks

Steel Decks & Docks

We can provide pile driving service for docks and decking in confined areas or locations where heavy equipment could damage your property. The Rhino Pile Driver weighs just 200lbs, making it extremely portable and allows us to do pile driving work with just a couple of men or a small excavator. This device can drive round and square pipe, as well as ‘I’ beam up to 6″ by 6″ square

Steel dock systems are becoming more popular, partly because you don’t need to take them out and put them back in every season. Also, both the Dept of Fisheries & Oceans and the Ministry of Natural Resources prefer steel docks over crib systems.

The gallery below shows some pictures from a recent project. Click on the images to enlarge them.

As in any type of construction work that you do along your property shoreline, docks are restricted to rules, regulations and in some cases permitting with a number of government agencies. Just like all of our other services, we can provide full assistance to you in obtaining the necessary permits and liaising with the inspectors on your behalf.

For more information on what you can and can not do along your waterfront shoreline, the following government publications can provide insight. We’re also happy to help answer any questions you might have.

The Rhino Pile Driver also allows us to do pile driving for fence and gate posts in locations where the bedrock is more than a couple of feet below grade. Consider this alternative to the standard post hole digging and then back filling or cementing. Pile driving your posts can be a simpler solution.
